1) Hello Tony, welcome to XtremeDragPhoto.com/ Speedquestinc.com…
and thanks for taking your time to answer our questions.
2) First of all, I would like to know, what adjustments did you get to
make to your car for 2012?
This year is almost a complete rebuild. We’ve changed suspension, aero slightly, and a complete new turbo system. We hope to have more power, a better weight bias, and be a little lighter.
3) This event at GreatLakes is known to be one without weight rules…
What do you think about that?
I’ve done a fair amount of testing over the past few weeks and I am confident that a lighter car does not have an advantage now. A lighter car will break less parts, but will not hook up as good as one with more weight on the tires. I’ve run my car from 2250lbs to 2575lbs and definitely seen the difference. I will be running it at over 2400lbs for this event.
4) Do you think you can turn a page in Sport Compact History by
running low 8’s and the possibility of running in the 7’s?
It will happen eventually, but it’s going to take some time. Little by little we’ll get there. I’d like to be the first, but i’ll be the first to shake the hand and congratulate the one who does it first if it’s not me. It’s going to take a lot of work and dedication to make it happen.
5) In your opinion… do you think this would be a legitimate record
in the Category or would it be your very personal record?
The car is 100% legal the way it will be run, so it will be as legitimate as anything. There was a lot of controversy about the car as it was 2150lbs initially, but we never ran it like that. I tried something with water injection and no intercooler but it was too far down on power.

6) For the people considering visiting this event… what would you
tell them to convince them not to miss this event?
This will be my first time at this event, so I have high hopes that it will be great. What I can say is that there are going to be some great cars racing and hopefully some records broken. That’s reason enough to come watch!
7) What can we expect from Tony Palo in this event, what will Tony
offer his Fans?
We run at 110% every time the car goes down the track. We did some testing a couple weeks ago and learned a few things and I think the car is going to run a good number out there. 🙂
